As each day wound down for Winter Games spectators at the Gangneung Olympic Park, the outdoor Today Show set came alive due to the time difference between New York and South Korea.  Team USA athletes would stop by the set after completing events or collecting medals.  For women’s snowboard halfpipe gold medalist Chloe Kim, her chat with Al Roker, Hota Kotb and Savannah Guthrie took place at the end of a very long day that started with the finals at Bokwang Phoenix Snow Park, followed the evening medal ceremony at the PyeongChang Olympic Plaza.  (The driving distance between the three venues was considerable.)

The hosts, however, were interested in other events earlier that day, pointing to a series of tweets on food including her regret over a lack of a full breakfast.

Wish I finished my breakfast sandwich but my stubborn self decided not to and now I’m getting hangry

After the 17-year-old Kim talked about how “hangry” she was, the Today Show presented her with a platter of ice cream, churros and sandwiches.

“Don’t mix chocolate churros and a sandwich,” Kim warned after sampling everything at once.  “It doesn’t really work, but I’m glad I tried it!”
