With previous partner Robin Szolkowy, Aljona Savchenko won two Olympic bronze medals in 2010 and 2014, as well as multiple world and European championships. Szolkowy’s retirement led to Savchenko’s partnership with Bruno Massot and another shot at Olympic gold. Just a month later in Milan, the pair won their first world championship, setting world record scores in both programs. Last week, it was announced that two-time U.S. pairs champions Alexa Scimeca-Knierim and Chris Knierim will train with Savchenko and her team, splitting their time between the States and Germany.
