Jun Jie Spring 2019 – New York Fashion Week

With a little sportiness and a lot of femininity, the Jun Jie Spring 2019 presentation at Chelsea Piers was a mix of teddy bears, color blocking, retro jackets and silky cut out dresses. Inspired by “futurism sci-fi with house deco,” designer Jun Jie Yang incorporated drapey, asymmetrical dresses with wraparound graphic overskirts. The color palette was decidedly spring-like with typical baby blues and baby pinks along with a smattering of a squiggly red pattern and an electric blue furry jacket.

Looking at the clothing individually, the only pieces worth wearing are the furry jackets. The blazer with the black and white sleeves and camel color blocking is overwhelming, as well as the black and white satin tuxedo jacket paired with a blue body suit.
