WNBA 2015: Mystics outmuscled by Dream, 64-61

June 12, 2015, Verizon Center, Washington, D.C. – Seemingly coasting to an easy win, the Washington Mystics (2-1) were outmuscled by the Atlanta Dream (2-2) and lost their first game of the 2015 season.

Leading by 52-41 with just 7:50 minutes to play in the fourth quarter, the Dream outscored the Mystics, 23-9.  The Dream’s leading scorer, Angel McCoughtry, led the comeback with 10 points.  Atlanta made four 3-pointers and six points in the paint.  Meanwhile, the Mystics committed four turnovers and missed 8 of 11 attempts.

Despite the loss, the inspired effort by Mystics’ center, Emma Meesseman, led her team with 21 points (8 of 11 attempts) and 9 rebounds.
