tambourine Fall 2014 – Tokyo Fashion Week

A label previously designed by Nozomi Ishiguro and now passed along to Fumika Goto, tambourine offers streetwear for cool, confident, and wealthy young men and women for Fall 2014. Trench coats, ruffled tartan stoles, mixed patched tartan shorts and printed cotton shirts were neatly presented at the label’s exhibition during Tokyo Fashion Week. Primarily a men’s collection with a smattering of women’s clothing, tambourine featured long and loose silhouettes. Standout pieces were the shirts and shorts incorporating various patches constructed of different materials, creating an easy way to wear one piece with multiple layers. One jacket featured a familiar character from last season: a cartoon chicken accompanied by the words “Perfectly Fried Chicken” on the back. Prices range from US$160 for a cotton jersey t-shirt upwards to $980 for a tweed patched cotton chambray trench.
