Red carpet (and Kate Middleton) favorite Jenny Packham’s runway show began and ended with flourishes of smoke, a nod towards her 1940’s noir inspiration. The collection predominantly featured strong broad shoulders and dramatic, hourglass figure cuts, with waists tailored tight or cinched with glossy belts. Packham’s signature intricate beading came into play in a number of the gowns, sometimes spectacularly cascading off the shoulders. Metal-heeled Christian Louboutin stilettos put the exclamation point on the collection’s glamorous impact.
