A late penalty kick propelled D.C. United to a 3-2 victory over Chivas USA on May 29, 2010. Although the win did not boost United’s placement in the Eastern Conference standings – they remain in last place heading into Saturday night’s game against reigning MLS champions Real Salt Lake – they did manage to win their second game in a row following a win in a friendly against AC Milan earlier in the week. Andy Najar, 17, struck first for United while Adam Cristman did the honors in the 76th minute. Carey Talley’s winning penalty kick came in stoppage time following the ejection of Chivas goalie Zach Thornton.
