Mnemonikos exhibit in Bangkok stretches limit of textiles

Rope, Teflon, tea bags and recycled bottles were just some of the materials used in the mnēmonikos:  Art of Memory in Contemporary Textiles exhibit currently on display through Feb. 22 at the Jim Thompson Center in Bangkok.  Free of charge and just adjacent to the Jim Thompson House, the aesthetics of 28 visual artists can be found in various art pieces, notably unusual fashion meant to be seen rather than worn, such as haute couture gowns and eye masks accentuated with gold chains.
