Do you want to get rocked? If “yes” is your answer, then the Spring 2009 line for G-Star Raw is the way to go.
The Park Avenue Armory in New York City set the stage for the show, providing the perfect atmosphere with stadium-like bleacher seating. Actors Heather Graham and Alan Cumming stepped onto the catwalk, each donning classic G-Star dark denim and alternating recitations of the eight Millennium Development Goals established by the United Nations. The Goals address major world development challenges, such as ending poverty around the world and promoting gender equality.
When they were done, Graham and Cumming were met with applause, which continued throughout the evening in response to a men’s and women’s collection that featured white suits trimmed with black silk, dark denim dresses, and beautifully fitted long trench coats that complemented the overall look.
The after-party that followed took place in the same venue, and it featured some of the biggest names in fashion, music, TV, and film. I spotted Tyson Beckford, Josh Lucas, Adrien Grenier, Zoe Saldana, Maxwell, and The Veronicas just to name a few.
If you want to dress like a rock star, check out G-Star Raw’s spring collection, and add a few pieces to your own “almost famous” wardrobe.
