This season at Tokyo Fashion Week, the designer behind the label G.V.G.V., MUG, opted for an exhibition, providing ample time and pride of place to her playful Spring 2014 collection.  Paying homage to the Amy Heckerling film “Clueless,” emblazoned across jackets were the names of its three main characters – Cher (played by Alicia Silverstone in the movie), Dionne (Stacey Dash) and Tai (the late Brittany Murphy).  The collection had a simultaneously sweet and naughty tone throughout. Baby pastel blues and faux fur contradicted, yet complemented, heart-shaped purses boasting the cursive phrase, “Please kill me.” A black and white plaid school uniform skirt was elongated past its expected length, only to be upstaged by a matching bustier.  Also on hand was a series of platform checkerboard loafers and Spice Girls-inspired sneakers.
