Tracy Reese – New York Fashion Week Spring 2009 Review

Tracy Reese continued her theme of nature from last season, but opted for a more restrained, elegant approach. The result was a resounding success and a return to vintage Reese, particularly when it came to her signature “frocks.”

Flower-shaped cutouts, rhinestones and tassels added flair to Reese’s diverse yet cohesive collection; she always manages to create classic offerings that, somehow, do not appear to have been done before. A kimono appeared to have been the inspiration for a strapless dress with a nectar chrysanthemum print, while an appliqué shift dress used a vibrant yellow backdrop to accentuate a garden print with purple and copper tones.
