Meniscus and Marais: "A Handbag With a Heart" Giveaway

When we at Meniscus Magazine found out about Marais Designs’ generous donation of more than US$150,000 worth of tote bags and handbags – more than 14,000 bags – to NBC’s “Today Show” Toy Drive earlier this month, we were impressed that so many pre-teens and teenagers benefited as a result.

This generosity is also why we decided to partner with Marais to give you a shot at a bag.  Marais wants to know how you gave back this past holiday season.  Volunteerism?  Community service?  A generous donation?  Lending a hand to family or friends?  Share your stories on our Facebook page or e-mail [email protected] by Fri., Jan. 14, 2011, 11:59 p.m. ET.  Meniscus will select three winners, publish their stories here on and, best of all, Marais will give each person a handbag!  If you have photos to accompany your stories, please upload them into Facebook or e-mail them to us.  Winners will be contacted via e-mail and/or Facebook for shipping information that will be shared with Marais.

About Marais Designs: Marais, named after the most fashionable district in Paris, exudes the look of the bourgeoisie Boho girl.  In 2007, founders Laura Lavin and Maurice Terzi decided to partner up their strengths and form a company that could offer fast fashion at a reasonable price, bringing runway trends to the consumer within weeks of it being spotted on the runway.   For more information, go to or Marais’ blog at
