Bill Blass – New York Fashion Week Fall 2008
After enduring a series of underwhelming Fall 2008 collections at New York Fashion Week, it was nice to see new Creative Director Peter Som restore some normalcy with a spectacular debut for label Bill Blass. Som, who also had a runway show under his own label that week, unveiled a gorgeous collection that was simultaneously classic and sophisticated, with crisp cuts adding great emphasis to blacks, whites and grays. Overall, Som provided a great mixture of well-tailored business suits and elegant formalwear.
Note: Unfortunately, there won't be any more Bill Blass runway shows for Som, who resigned from the company in July, reportedly due to the company's financial troubles.
