Temperley London – New York Fashion Week Spring 2008

“Beautiful” was the adjective model Christy Turlington used to describe the newest Temperley collection. That, in a word, is an appropriate summation of the London designer’s latest showing at New York Fashion Week.

Alice Temperley, whose Go International capsule collection hits Target stores next week, created a Spring/Summer 2008 offering titled “Plage Priveé,” French for “private beach.” No odes to bouncy music, volleyballs or surfboards here – just a subtle, stunning series of looks in warm tones ranging from flowing floor-length gowns to jumpsuits, many of them cinched with thin belts and drawing inspiration from the likes of the French Riviera. A t-shirt and shorts outfit, or Temperley’s soft light-as-a-feather offerings to stroll along the sand? The chic, head-turning choice is obvious.
