Lisa Thon
- New York Fashion Week Spring 2007
Bryant Park, Sept. 15, 2006 – Puerto Rican designer Lisa Thon mixed it up for her “Nostalgia” Spring 2007 collection with dresses, swimsuits and casual wear. The result? An equally mixed bag. Thon’s stronger pieces included her bikinis – basic but flattering – and her short-sleeved tops, which included unusual cuts and imaginatively placed sashes and ribbons. However, looks made in taffeta and satin tended to bunch up in areas such as the waist or hips, making the clothing look unpolished. The saying “less is more” should have been applied to most of the chiffon dresses. Too much fabric was used and the garments resembled oversized nightgowns instead of sexy spring wear.
