The annual Miss New York Chinese Beauty Pageant is open to women between the ages of 17 to 25. More than 100 applicants applied for the opportunity to win the 2006 title, a $10,000 scholarship, a tiara worth more than $30,000, and the right to represent New York at the Miss Chinese International Pageant in Hong Kong.

Sirena Wang wins the 2006 Miss New York Chinese Beauty Pageant: In a dominant performance, the 20-year-old student from Birmingham, Ala., won the competition at the Mohegan Sun Casino.

#12: Ashley Zhu brings a wealth of modeling experience and an interesting talent segment to the pageant.

#13 Sirena Wang: When she first spoke with Meniscus, she spoke of her desire to return to her roots after spending the last six years in the deep South. After the pageant, it was "Mission: Accomplished" for the winner. (Note: This was Sirena's second interview with Meniscus after winning the title.)

#13: It’s a long way from China to Alabama for Sirena Wang, and now she wants to make a mark in New York City. (Note: This was Sirena's first interview with Meniscus at the semifinals, well before the finalists were announced.)
