The Healing Heart

Troubles from our past and troubles here today,
Aches and pains from daily living and hurts along the way,
Baggage we've carried with us, things that maybe aren't so good,
It always catches up with us, not living as we should,
Where do we turn to when our lives seem to go astray?
And who will help the healing heart to find a brighter day?

Vices we've had for many years, bad habits that fill our lives,
Mountains that lie in front of us, will we reach the other side?
Is the challenge really too big for us, can we go another mile?
Should we give up our journey here and now or only rest for a short while?
Should we go back to the beginning and make a brand new start,
And pick up the broken pieces to mend the healing heart?

If you think you've had enough my friend, then look to God above,
The healing that begins inside always starts with his love,
For God is the greatest healer, he hears us when we pray,
He will send his grace upon us each and every day,
The help we need deep inside will eventually come in time,
God always mends the healing heart, in Him these things we find.
