Poetry

light of hope

sunsets remind me
that Heaven looms in the distance:
the light of its golden streets appearing
above the surface of the horizon
although no shiny buildings, structures, nor streets
are visible themselves.
just the rays through the trees
from the city that needs no sun or moon.
and as i walk down the street towards it
it is as if someone has just let down her most beautiful hair:
golden strands sparkling with the urging breeze.
What has been unleashed here?
What delicacy put before me?
that i may but sample some now--
and feast later.
the night of darkness comes
the man looking for his anchor is despair.
but my ship is secure
as i make my way home,
while the sun makes its ever-increasing shine
to the full light of day.

If only

Meeting you, knowing you, was all a miracle
Like the unpredictable destiny, you were just as mystery
Unable to fathom the message you convey
You drifted away, so fast that I could not grasp
Standing in the darkness, all alone
Fighting with the demons within you
You drew a line between us
Warning me to step away
Leaving the misery,all to yourself
If only......I could turn back the time
If only......I had realised earlier
If only......you were here again
