Review – New York Fashion Week Spring 2010
Designer Thuy Diep’s Spring/Summer 2010
women’s collection – “sexy, flirty, with a bit of S&M,”
she said – retained much of the same aesthetic and style of her
looks from last season, yet pushed the envelope a bit more with its
rawer and more daring take. Zippers, used as both an embellishment and
a design statement, played a very prominent role as straps in some pieces
while woven seamlessly into patterns in other cases. Other designs were
equally unique, such as a black shoulder tie dress and a playful inside-out
dress with “pockets” seemingly hanging out.
At New York Fashion Week, designer Thuy
Diep talks about the inspiration behind her Spring/Summer 2010 collection
and the use of zippers in her pieces. Additional photos
