Taylor Review – New York Fashion Week Spring 2010
With Rebecca Taylor, you pretty much know what you’re going to get: a cohesive, classic collection that plays it safe and doesn’t push the boundaries of haute. Unfortunately, her spring women’s collection came across as repetitive and familiar – vintage Taylor, perhaps, but a bit overdone with a spring garden theme. Busy motifs such as polka dots, flowers, stripes and gray leopard prints dominated pieces from head to toe, and even her best piece – a strapless organza cocktail dress in cobalt – had one too many of Taylor’s favorite ruffles, particularly in the waist area.
