New York Fashion Week Spring 2010 photo galleries

Meniscus Magazine's coverage of the New York Fashion Week Spring 2010 collections wouldn't be complete without pictures from the runway shows - as well as behind the scenes. In addition to our photography, reporters Yuan-Kwan Chan and Inga Vascenkova provide reviews and insights from the Bryant Park tents.

Reviews:

ARISE: African Fashion Collective: The festive 20-minute show featured four young African fashion designers. | Video

BCBGMAXAZRIA: Unlike previous collections, Max Azria's current presentation incorporated a lot of color blocking and abstract, splatter-like prints in bright colors – refreshing choices for the spring season.

Chado Ralph Rucci: Attention to detail is why Rucci stands a cut above his contemporaries with his steadfast devotion to couture, while creating looks that make many women believe that they, too, can wear and own these works of art. | Video

Christian Siriano: Siriano unveiled a women’s Spring 2010 collection inspired by the Mediterranean, with large, lush prints depicting blue oceans and orange volcanoes. | Video

Edition by Georges Chakra: Chakra offered a very striking contrast to his Fall 2009 collection, nixing stiff fabrics for airy short dresses and evening gowns with unexpected twists. | Video

Max Azria: Show guest and actor Mickey Rourke reportedly said of the eponymous label’s latest neutral-colored offerings that they suited all types of women. We beg to differ, Mr. Rourke. | Video

Rebecca Taylor: The designer's women’s collection came across as repetitive and familiar – vintage Taylor, perhaps, but a bit overdone with a spring garden theme. | Video

Thuy: Thuy Diep retained much of the same aesthetic and style of her looks from last season, yet pushed the envelope a bit more with its rawer and more daring take.
