man's view of the Inauguration
An estimated 1.4 million people turned out on a chilly day in Washington, D.C., to watch Barack Obama become the 44th President of the United States. One of those was Meniscus photographer Kwai Chan, who was granted access to the National Mall – the first time that the Mall had ever been open to the public for the Swearing-In Ceremony. While navigating through and around the various color-coded lines proved to be a chaotic experience, the energy was high and the atmosphere electric. Here are some of his shots:
