For all inquiries
about contributing to Meniscus, please e-mail us at admin
[at] meniscuszine[dot]com.
Submissions to Meniscus
are accepted and published on a rolling basis. We accept articles, photography
and video content. To pitch an idea for a story, you may e-mail your proposal
or query letter. Please be sure to include your full name, geographical
location, and links or attachments to previous work (published or not,
but it gives an idea of how your potential editorial chops).
If you are stumped about
article ideas, feel free to pursue a couple of our requests below:
MUSIC...LETS
THE PEOPLE...COME TOGETHER:
Meniscus receives a number of requests
to cover concerts and write musician profiles/interviews, both Asian American
and non. The majority of these requests are from New York and Los Angeles,
although some are tied to national tour dates. Digital camera ownership
(both stills and video) is a plus (required for concert coverage). For
consideration, please send a resume and a couple of writing samples to
admin @ meniscuszine.com.
EAT
AND BE MERRY:
Meniscus is particularly looking to
bulk up its food and travel sections, from first-hand voyage experiences
to restaurant reviews. Again, digital camera ownership is a plus, as we'd
like to provide readers with pictures of food and scenery. For consideration,
please send a resume and a couple of writing samples to admin @ meniscuszine.com.
ESSAY
CONTEST:
We still don't have a winner, so send your essay!!! Write about a sport
you really enjoy. Explain why and how you enjoy it. Describe it in such
a way that some of the greatness you feel it has passed on to the reader.
Regular Meniscus contributors cannot enter this contest (you know
who you are ;) ). The winning essay will be published on this site, and
you will receive some goodies in the mail, name recognition and the glory
of an achievement you can brag about to your friends.
CHURCH
REVIEWS:
Have you gone to some awesome churches in your life? Bad? Bordering
on cult-dom? Share your interesting stories with us and how these churches
may have enhanced/de-hanced (sorry, that's not a word but I couldn't resist)
your faith. And with each review, make sure you supply the following information:
Name of church:
Address (street, city, state):
Pastor/Minister/Leader Name(s):
Approximate size of church (if known):
Denomination (if not stated in the church name):
Your name and hometown:
Pictures
in .jpg format would be great, but not absolutely necessary. They could
be of the church building, friends made there, etc. And remember, the
more honest and personal you are, the better.
