Siam Paragon 10th anniversary – Bangkok Int’l Fashion Week 2015

Siam Paragon – that luxe mall on Bangkok’s Sukhumvit Road with bouncers and queues at Louis Vuitton; Maserati and Rolls Royce cars for sale; and a gourmet supermarket that would put a mashup of Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s to shame – celebrates its 10th birthday this year.  Also the venue for Bangkok International Fashion Week 2015, the festivities kicked off with the rather awkwardly worded tribute show, “The Prismatic Phenomenon.”  Thankfully, the clothes themselves were far less so, featuring the typically abundant doses of bling and shine that one has come to expect from ready-to-wear Thai fashion.  Twenty designers and labels made two custom outfits each for the event: FLYNOW, Theater, NAGARA, Kai, Senada, chaigoldlabel, Tube Gallery, Issue, Muse by Good Mixer, FRI27NOV., Asava, Disaya, KwanKao, Kloset, Munchu’s, Patinya, Poem, Realistic Situation, Sretsis and Vickteerut.
