BCBGMAXAZRIA Fall 2013: Turkish-inspired layering…with beanies

A grunge influence balanced delicate Islamic art-inspired patterns in the latest BCBGMAXAZRIA collection, creating a tough urban feminine aesthetic that – combined with a variety of luxurious materials – elevated the label to new levels.

For Fall 2013, the globe-trotting BCBG girl takes inspiration from a visit to Istanbul, where she happened upon a tribe of gypsies who generously gave her lessons on layering.  Upon returning to her decidedly colder home city, she takes those tips seriously.  One day she wears a long winter-white satin crepe shift dress over a pair of white jacquard pants – with a matching jacquard sweatshirt on top –  and finishing with an ivory cashmere beanie over her straight glossy hair.

Another day sees her pulling on an oversized quilted parka with fur trim over a patterned silk dress, worn with another cashmere beanie and a pair of thigh-high boots that create the illusion of pants when paired with a dress of this length.

Leather and oxblood trends show no sign of dying this season, and BCBG combined both in a burgundy trapeze top and A-line skirt with laser-cut folkloric lace patterns (and again, worn with a beanie).

The BCBG girl also holds fur in a special place in her heart/closet, thinking nothing of wearing a knee-length patterned fur vest over a leather-sequined black tulle tunic dress, which in turn is layered over a long white silk crepe slip dress.  And of course, she has her beanie on.
