Jenny Packham Fall 2011 – New York Fashion Week Review

Stepping into Jenny Packham’s Mayfair boutique in London of Jenny Packham is equivalent to stepping into a two-floor museum filled with towering pieces resembling costumes.   The experience is simultaneously awe-inducing and intimidating, so it was quite a refreshing contrast to see Packham lighten up the mood for Fall 2011.

Proving that all that glitters really is gold, Packham incorporated her signature beads, crystals and sequins into airy fabrics such as silk, chiffon and satin, but took great care to ensure that none of the 32 looks were weighed down nor overpowered by their accents.  As a result, the collection is fun, versatile and bound to turn heads – no small feat with looks that included leggings with cobwebbed jeweled patterns and a dark V-necked jumpsuit covered with shining crystals.
