Christian Siriano Spring 2011 – New York Fashion Week

Collection inspiration, as provided by Christian Siriano: “The Christian Siriano Spring ’11 collection is inspired by African, Indian and Chinese influences mixed with measures of elegant opulence.  The apparel includes a breadth of silhouettes ranging from wide-legged trousers, safari shorts and jackets to structured cocktail dresses and light, flowing evening gowns.  Christian’s line includes a signature Asian fabric print based on digital photographs showing different vantage points of Chinese and Buddhist temples combined with varying perspectives of Indian beading.”

Shoe inspiration, as told by Siriano: “My runway shoes for Spring ’11 meld cultural influences from Africa, India and China together into a single design aesthetic.  Since the apparel for Spring is very feminine and pretty, I really wanted the shoes to form a harder, edgier contrast.”
